Windsor Rotary took on the Emergency Response Project in January, 1990, and became a Satellite for Northwood Homecare Limited, Halifax, N.S.  Northwood is a "not-for-profit" organization providing care for seniors in residence and at home.

Intouch is a pImageersonal response telephone system for persons living alone who need support. A subscriber can summon help simply by pressing a button. The response centre monitors all Intouch units continuously.

Our Club is one of many service clubs in Nova Scotia acting as satelIites. The main responsibility of our Club is to install and service the Intouch units; but also to find people in our area who could benefit from their use.

As of October 23, 2012 we have installed 465 units in Windsor, Hantsport, Falmouth, West Hants and part of East Hants with approximately 100 units in service at any one time.  Rotarians  Gerry Raymond, Daryl Sullivan, Larry Armstrong and Bill Mulhall do the installing and service of the units as needed.

Our club receives financial support in the amount of $25.00 from the Subscriber for each installation and $ 1:00 per unit per month from Northwood for each unit in service. Our Club uses some of this fund to support subscribers who cannot afford to pay the full costs.
